** Desk Top Publishing Operator (Basic skill programme):--

Objective of the course - to impart basic skill &  knowledge to trainees in the trade Desk Top Printing and Publishing, so as to prepare trainees for employment in Printing/Publishing Press/Units.

Trainee Entry level - pass in Higher Secondary (XIIth) of 10+2 system or equivalent;  having typing speed of at least 30 wpm. in English. Other qualifications being equal, candidate having Typing speed of 30 wpm in any other regional language would be given preference.

Course Duration - One year full time course

Course Contents :- Course coverage includes understanding the DTP software, its function & uses.  Use of DTP tool for page make-up.  Use of graphics, etc. in DTP. 

Trainee Exit Level :- On completion of the course, the trainees are expected to be able to 

• Handle and operate Personal Computers & Printers independently;

• Estimating the costing of the job to be composed;

• Preparing graphic designs of book/magazine covers, chart/posters, letter heads, visiting cards presentation material, etc

• To execute all the key board commands, editing and to operate the DTP unit. 

The workshop, developed for this course, is equipped with latest version of Computers, the DTP unit, scanners, colour printers, etc.
